Addictions!!!

I have a few addictions, the first is Wheat Thins, I can't stop eating them. The second is taking pictures for no reason, the third is Blogging, and finally I am totally addicted to my baby. I just think he is so cute. Of course my other kids are cute too, but there is just something about a baby. Besides that Julie requested me to blog some more pictures. So, here they are.

This one reminds me of Tyler!

Cleaning Tile

So, normally on Monday's I clean my house, but today was a little off for a number of reasons that I won't go into. Tomorrow I will go crazy and clean everything. What does that have to do with my worst Pet Peeve you ask. Well, in California for some unknown reason (and if we did know it we would all think it was stupid anyway), they think it is practical and stylish to have tile countertops and tile showers. Now, I am totally a fan of the tile shower, unless it is like mine. My tile shower is 4 inch tiles and it is massive. Who seriously just puts 4 inch tiles in a shower it is crazy, with all the grout. I hate cleaning it so much. I go through bleach sticks like crazy because apparently it is also stylish to have white grout. I'm sure a man came up with the whole idea! Cleaning tile sucks! For those of you have had the tile, I know you feel me.

Jolly Jumper, Ear Infections, and more!!!

As usual I have to post some pictures of my adorable baby. He loves to play in the Jolly Jumper and last night I put him in there while I folded some laundry and bathed Brookie! So, he was in there jumping for almost 45 minutes with a grin on his cute face the whole time.
I think his ears are finally feeling better. I took him back to the Dr.'s office on Wednesday for an ear check because he just wasn't back to himself. Of course his ears were not better. I wasn't surprised because the anitbiotic that he was on he hated and if I did get it down him, he would spit it all back up. Needless to say the poor kid had the double ear infection for probably a week or so before it was bad enough for him to complain (he doesn't really complain about anything) and then another week with antibiotics that weren't working and now finally after two days of the latest stuff he is feeling better. Horray! He is rolling everywhere, trying to figure out the whole sitting thing and trying to pull over the fake plants and stuff I have in the house. As you can see from the pictures he is cute. My dad mention the other day that he thought there was a look of Bonka (Grandpa Scadlock) about him. I would have to say I agree.

You gotta love that grin.
The first week of school has gone well for Tyler,he loves it! Brooklynn is another story she is weeping and sad and on edge about everything. I have joined a joy school group (what am I thinking). Brooks will go to Joy School on Tuesdays and Thursday and once every six weeks I am in charge of teaching it at my house. It is with a great group of women in the ward and a few have done it before, so I think it will be great and it will keep miss busy, bosy body doing something.

Ty's First Day of School

So, here he is, my cutest five (almost six) year old, off to Kindergarten. He was so excited this morning, he was bursting at the seams. We took lots of pictures and then we got to his class room. He looked at me and with no hesitation said, "Bye Mom." I told him he needed to wait because I was going in with him and I needed to take some pictures. So, in we went to Mrs. Sagouspe's room, he hung up his backpack and was done with me. I'm really worried about him, I think he is a little shy - yeah right.

Boy is this kids handsome or what?

He of course had to have me take a picture of his Darth Vader backpack.

This is Ty and his buddy Drew. They were in the same preschool class last year and by some lucky coincidence they got in the same kindergarten class. Ty was most excited!

All in all it was a great day, I didn't even cry. Yep, that is right I didn't even cry - Ty was so excited it was hard to be sad. Although, when he came home I wished he could be gone all day because he was instantly bored. Such is life! Posted by Picasa

A few random shots.

Here are my boys. I thought these were cute pictures, of course I did. Josh loves his big brother and can't help but smile when he is around.

This is obviously Brooklynn, she had this habit of falling asleep in some strange places. I'm not quite sure how she does it.

Alright, for those of you who have never met her, but need a face for the name, this is Kendra. This was at the Tim and Faith concert last week. She is my bestest pal here in Frestucky. Posted by Picasa

Stiff as a Gun - of course Granddad had to see if Joshy could do it and he did great. He was a little nervous, but finally gave us a few grins

Granddad came to the zoo with us one afternoon. They had a brand new baby gorilla that we got to see, the kids had fun and it was a great 1 1/2 hour trip to the zoo! We had a brief break in the clouds so we took advantage of it.

I thought Mom looked cute here, so I threw it in! Posted by Picasa

Yes, Yes, Nana Does Make Cookies!!!

So, surprise of all surprises Nana (Mom) does still know how to make cookies. I mean real cookies, not the kind you take out of the wrapper and put on a cookie sheet. She even let the kids help and get flour and sugar and dough all over her kitchen. Although, cleaning day was the next day, so why not make a mess. The kids had a wonderful time and Nana said she was trying to emulate Grandma Linda. We love you Nana!
And, I borrowed Kendra's camera cord because I couldn't wait to download the pics.

Sacramento Temple and Double Ear Infections

Well, yesterday was an adventure. We (meaning about 6 youth leaders) took about 35 of the youth in our ward to Sacramento to go to the temple open house. Kendra, who is a saint, took my kids for the whole afternoon until Steve got home from work. We had a great adventure full of spit balls, someone sharting their pants (actually a little worse), and of course the temple. It was so beautiful, as they all are, but it sits in a beautiful park area on a hill. It is twice the size of our temple here in Fresno. It was a great activity and I think the youth had a great time.

When I got home last night, I noticed that Joshy was coughing a little and really restless in his sleep. He had a little bit of a runny nose on Monday, but I just figured it was teething. Well, he was up about 4 time last night and when he woke up this morning he was so sad. I pushed on one of his ears and he got the cutest sadest face I have ever seen. So, I took him to the Dr. this afternoon and sure enough Double Ear Infection and some chest congestion. This literally came on overnight, so my poor adorable baby is very sad and just complaining. Hopefully we won't have to bad of a night.

On a lighter note I took Tyler to his school today for his Kindergarten assessment. He met his teacher Mrs. Sagouspie (I think that is how it is spelled). He did great on his assessment and is getting more and more excited. He asked me why he couldn't start school tomorrow. We also found out and that one of his best buddies from his pre-school will be in his class. I am very excited, but at the same time sad that he is getting so big.

Tim and Faith?

So, I had the coolest thing happen to me last night. I was talking to my friend Alisha (she and I work together in YW), she was saying she had lots to do and this goodbye party to go to and then she had tickets to the Tim and Faith concert. She then told me that she thought she had two extras and who would she give them to at such late notice. Well, I of course volunteered me and Kendra to go. She said she wasn't forsure that we could use them, but she would call me back! I got them! Yippy, so Kendra and I got to go to the concert last night. Alisha and her husband have box seats with his company, so the seats were great. Alisha and Rocky this is my tribute to you - thanks you are the best!!!! We had so much fun and it was awesome to catch up with Kendra since we had both been out of town for the last 2 1/2 weeks. It really made the PVB's so much better. I have a couple of pics to post, but I will have to do it later. My favorite thing about the concert besides the fact that it was awesome was one of Faith's back up singers. I swear he thought he was the show, he was so goofy. I think someone needed to mention to him that he wasn't that cool.

Tyler Pics

So of course a couple more pictures from Canada. Tyler was so awesome as hopefully you saw on the video clip. This is him after his wake surfing adventure! He was so proud of himself. The next one is he and Spencer on the tube. He loves the tube! Granddad gave he and Spenc quite the ride and boy did they hang on tight!  Posted by Picasa

More Cabin Pics

Well, here are a few more pictures from the caibin. Marilee posted some of these, but I thought they were cute so I had to post them too. Obviously the first one is of Brookie on the boat. If I say so myself she is pretty cute.
Next is Garett and Brooklynn. After I would say the first day these two became attached at the hip. It was so cute. When we got back to moms in Cochrane the kids all camped out on the floor and G wanted Brookie to share his sleeping bag. Unfortunately he barely fit, but she slept in her sleeping bag right next to him.

Brookie and Nana on the boat. They are just cute!

Finally it is me on the wake surfer. Boy it was a lot of work at first, but I think I got the hang of it. We only got to take the boat out one day though because the ignition wacked out on us and we had to send it into town to get fixed. Oh well, I guess there is always next year.

Home HOT Home

We got home yesterday afternoon. Of course because of all the terror threats navigating our way through US Customs, security and all was an adventure. I found out that lip stick and lip gloss are considered "liquids," so if anyone will be flying anytime soon make sure that you pack those in your checked luggage. I was also amazed that because people couldn't have any liquids most people checked their bags.

So, I am now officially suffering from PVB (post vacation blues). I am so tired and just have to get back into the swing of things! Tyler starts school a week from today, so I have to get him all ready to go. I think he is getting excited.

I will have some pics to post next week hopefully I left my camera cord at my moms in Canada, so she will mail it to me soon!

As usual, I am back into the heat. It is still hovering around 100 degrees, but at least it has been cooling off at night.

Alright, I just went out to get in the car to run a few errands and my car battery is dead. How fun for me. Luckily JD is home and is going to come over to jump start it for me. I bet Brookie turned on one of the interior lights and didn't turn it off before we left last week. I guess my visiting teaching will have to wait.

Cabin Fun!!!

Alrighty then. Here are some of the photos from the cabin this year. I am missing a few. This is a slide show, so press play to see all the pictures. There are some of our newest water sport "Wake Surfing" It is a serious blast and we all had a great time doing it. Even the kids gave it a whirl thanks to the ever wonderful Uncle Adam. We are giving you a huge shout out and thanks. Adam would hold the rope and drag in the water so that the kids could get up on the board. He sacraficed his body, arms, a little bit of hair, luckily all of the stress didn't affect his golf game to much! I'll have to get the pictures of me wake surfing from Marilee and then I can post them. We had such a great time!

Oh Canada

Well, we are in Canada. Yippy, it is not 100 degrees. We came last Tuesday night and went straight out to the cabin. We had so much fun. I learned a new water activity called wake surfing. It was way so fun. Tyler and Brookie had a blast tubing and Ty even tried the surfing, in a way. It was great fun and I wish we could have spent more time out there.

We had an especially good time with Marilee and Adam and crew plus Amber. Of course all the kids are perfectly adorable, but Logan is so totally cute. I think it has something to do with the age because Brady is the same way. Anyway, Logan loved Steve and DadDad (granddad). It took him awhile to warm up to me, but he is so funny. He has a great deep voice like Spencer did at the same age and he would wander around asking were DadDad was.

Steve and Marilee left today so it is me and the monkeys left. It is so quiet around here. Anyway, I will post some pics next week when we get home. Tyler starts school in only 2 weeks!!! I can't believe it, my baby is going to school.

Of course I have to give Marilee a shout out! I love you I'm so glad we got to spend some time together. And I can't forget Julie - I miss you and I will be sending you a small token of love from us when I get home! You'll love it.
