Joshua's 1st Birthday!

A year ago yesterday I found out that despite our best efforts of keeping him in, my little Joshua would have to come 6 weeks early! We were very worried about his health and if everything would be alright.

Yesterday we celebrated Joshua's first birthday and despite some chronic ear infections, he is a healthy, happy, wonderful little Angel! We love our Joshua and feel very blessed to have him in our home!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BOY!

His curls (at least I'm hoping)

He wasn't so sure about everyone watch him eat. We had Kendra and her kids over for cake. He didn't like the audience, but once everyone was gone he definitely enjoyed his cake! After almost every bite he would say, "Mmmmmm!" He also enjoyed tearing the wrapping paper off his gifts! It was pretty dang cute.

Oh ya, as an update on the ears. I am just waiting for a surgery date! Yippy.
We are also getting close to walking, he took about 8 steps the other day by himself, but has not been confident enough to try again. I'm not sure I am ready for a walking baby, but I can't hold him back forever!

Brookie's Birthday Festivities

This is actually a picture of her hair after I put sponge rollers in it! She wore it to church on Sunday and it was sooo cute!
Right after the rollers came out!

The Build A Bear Party!

Here is her new Strawberry Shortcake bike! She is very pleased with it and can't wait to ride it somewhere other than our little patio!

Brooklynn Kay is 4 today!

This is my tribute to my Brookie!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL!
I can't believe that she is 4 already, time just flies by. She had a fun party at Build A Bear yesterday. She and her friends were so cute and most excited about their bears. Tyler and Josh also made bears at the party.
Life with Brookie is a roller coaster ride. She is a sweet as sugar one minute and devilish the next. We wouldn't trade her for the world though and are so grateful to have her in our family! She really is a cute little thing, yesterday a big box came from Grandma with presents for her and Josh. The box was from a set of dishes that Grandma had bought herself. When Brooklynn saw the box she was so excited and Steve was saying look what Grandma sent you, knives and forks and plates. She looked at the box (this was before we had opened it up) and said, "Wow, maybe it is stuff for my kitchen!" We laughed, but she asked this morning why I threw the box away with the stuff for her kitchen. I had to explain that the dishes really were not what Grandma had sent her.
We love you Brooklynn!

Hail To The END of a Very long Week!

Well I must just say, Thank Heavens this week is over! The kids and I have had a long week while Steve has been gone for work. Thank Heavens for my friends who are always willing to take the kids to give me a break. The week wouldn't have been so long if I had slept a little better. With Josh's double ear infection this week and Brooklyn deciding every night that she needed to get in bed with me I didn't get very good sleep.

I'm going to give a shout out to my honey as he had a great week at the National Business meeting. He won a couple of awards this year and I am very proud of all his hard work. He is a great husband, daddy and I love him a lot. Thanks for being so wonderful honey!

Also, to TJ ROCK ON!

Finally, Josh is going to see the ENT (Ear Nose Throat) Doctor this week. They actually called today due to some cancellations and moved his appointment up to Monday Morning! Yippy, I may be camping out in the office until they put the tubes in. Hopefully, for my sweet little Josh they can get him scheduled for tubes ASAP and put him out of his misery.

This next week will be full of fun with my Brooklynn turning 4, and Josh's 1st birthday. I can't believe how fast the year has gone. We are so grateful for all of our blessings this past year and are looking forward to the adventures to come!

Toothless

We had a very significant event at our house last night. Tyler pulled out his first tooth. After checking his tooth and realizing that his other tooth could be seen and was pushing the baby one out, we decided it was time to get it out. Ty was a little uncertain and positive it was going to be a very painful event. So it took some convincing and some help from dad (to really loosen up the tooth) and then Ty pulled it all by himself. He was very pleased with himself. We got some video of the event, but I'll have to post it after I get a cord. Here are a few pictures.

Before he pulled it.

Dad helping to loosen it up. Tyler wasn't so sure about all of it.

The tooth just barely haning on. No, we didn't pull it with floss. That idea totally wigged Tyler out.

My cutie after. This picture makes me laugh. He was so excited.

Christmas In IDAHO!

Well we survived our trip to Idaho, the drive and all. We had so much fun with the family and were sad to leave them behind when it was time to head home. The kids were especially sad to leave they have so much fun with their cousins and love and miss Grandma and Grandpa.

Josh had a great week. He was pretty cranky and tired the first couple of days we were there and then come to find out a new tooth had popped in (tooth number 5). Then he pulled a folding chair on himself and got a lovely bruise on his face. He also got a really bad rash on his cheeks and around his mouth. It was dry and crusty and so painful, he looked miserable and come to find out felt miserable because, yep you guessed it, he had yet another ear infection. So, after he and Jakey and Eden were all on antibiotics for ear infections life was much better. Well at least until he scared us all and fell down the stairs. After that he was so much happier and got a kick out of his cousins. He and Jake were so cute playing together and loved sharing food and germs and all those good things. We went to lunch one day with the girls and kids and he and Jake were next to each other in their highchairs eating. Josh eats, he is truly an Empey. Since he discovered 'real' food he packs it back. Well he packed back all of his food and then noticed Jake wasn't finished so he took all of Jake's food too. Dang he is cute. As for Christmas he wasn't much interested in the presents, but had lots of fun with the boxes and paper.

Brooklynn loved Christmas. She was so pleased with all of her presents and so funny. She is so expressive. She is in Heaven at Grandma's house and plays and plays until she collapses with exhaustion. She and Hannah had so much fun together, she also had fun playing with Tommy who calls her 'Brakey' and Haven. She adores Kenzie and loved the time she spent playing games with her. I would say her favorite present was her Dora Game box and she convinced just about everyone, including Uncle Jason to play with her at least once. She loved playing in the snow and built a itty bitty snow man with Steve. She was very sad when it started to rain and it melted away. We went out to Jason's parents place and she was adorable sledding, she loved it and was in heaven playing in the snow. She also loved the snow machine. Uncle Jason fired up his snow machine while we were out there and took Brookie for a ride she had a perma grin on her face. After one turn she kept asking to go again.

Tyler also had a great time. On the way there he was so excited to play in the snow. We had to go buy him some boots and as soon as they arrived he put on all his gear and headed out. He was so pleased and played until the sun was gone. Tyler loved what Santa brought him and has been playing with his toys non-stop. He and Daddy had a great snow ball fight with Matt, Bailey, and Elijah. He also braved not only riding on the 4-wheeler, but being pulled behind it on a sled. He also loved the snow machine. One other high light was going to Idaho Falls and going on some go-carts. He was so cute and so serious driving his go cart. I have to say I was impressed with his driving skills although he did slam in to the sides a couple of times and get a good whip lash. He and Eli are two peas in a pod and had a great time together with all their star wars stuff.

Alright, I think that about updates us. I too had fun on the go-carts and sledding with the kids. Steve loved leaving work behind and not worrying about anything. He also loved hanging out with his brothers and dad. We miss you all and are definitely suffering from the PVB's. Enjoy the pictures, there are also a few from the couple of weeks before Christmas.

If I didn't give a shout out to Jakey I would be a bad Auntie. Happy 1st Birthday Jake, sorry we missed your bash! We love and miss you.
